Andrew is a leader in the area of South Georgia litigation representation. Andrew brings compassion to relationships with his clients and zealous advocacy to the courtroom. Andrew is a firm believer that there is no substitute for genuine care and concern for the client’s plight and hard core preparation. He strives to leave no stone uncovered in preparing for a case. From beginning to end, he is committed, focused, and determined on seeking the best for his clients.

Our History

In 2012, Andrew and Katie founded the Dove Law Firm, LLC in Ocilla, Georgia. Andrew’s legal career was inspired heavily by the many great legal minds and personalities that have called Ocilla home, including his uncle the Honorable Harvey J. Davis. “Uncle Harvey” taught Andrew the value of hometown relationships and how to serve those people well in the courtroom.

Born and raised in Irwin County, Andrew graduated from Irwin County High School and went on to attend Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton. From there he transferred to the University of Georgia and graduated with a B.A. in History. After his undergraduate studies, Andrew began law school at Mississippi College. It was there in Jackson, Mississippi, where Andrew met Katie, a fellow South Georgia gal, who shared similar background, vision, and values.

Katie likewise grew up in South Georgia. Her parents and grandparents have all worked as self-employed business owners. From them, she learned the value of hard work and hometown relationships. She also developed a love and passion for the people of South Georgia.

After graduating with honors from Statesboro High School, Katie moved to Valdosta, Georgia. In her pre-law studies, she was an honor student and served on the Student Judicial Board. She was involved with numerous other community-service based organizations. After college, Katie attended law school at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi. During law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Board and won several awards for her brief-writing and oral skills. She also was awarded the Mississippi Bar litigation award. She later graduated magna cum laude.

After law school, Andrew and Katie never questioned where they would call home. The couple spent several years practicing law in Moultrie, Georgia. Andrew worked as a criminal defense attorney for the State of Georgia. There, he gained valuable courtroom experience and obtained acquittals for several clients accused of crimes. Katie worked for the Howell Law Firm, a practice specializing in catastrophic personal injuries. It was there she learned firsthand how unexpected injures can devastate entire families. She gained invaluable legal experience in working with insurance adjusters, insurance companies, mediators, and the civil justice legal system to secure just settlements and compensation for clients injured by the reckless conduct of others.

Our Approach

We believe we are called to help our clients through complicated challenges in their life resulting from car accidents or criminal charges. Our practice is rooted in seeking truth, justice, and resolution for each client, without exception. In doing so, we combine small town relationships with legal experience. Each client and problem is unique. We steer clear from a “one size fits all” approach but instead customize a legal strategy and solution which maximizes the result and peace for each client’s particular needs. Experience has taught us that the legal issues and client’s preferences vary greatly in each case.

We begin this process by thoroughly educating our client about the law and framework governing his or her legal issue. We work hard explaining to our clients in understandable terms what to expect regarding possible timelines and detailed analysis and feedback about alternative approaches and potential outcomes. We have found that our clients appreciate a firm and detailed understanding of the process. We treat our clients like our family and see them as team members. Their understanding and input is essential; and they need the right information to make the best decision.

Further, we take preparation seriously. Although our cases are frequently resolved without a trial, each case must be prepared thoroughly to ensure the best outcome.

Our Cases

Our practice is varied but primarily we serve people injured in car wrecks, other personal injuries, or individuals accused of misdemeanor or felonies. We do not, however, confine ourselves only to personal injury and criminal defense. We also have had the privilege to represent numerous individuals on matters involving municipal, city, county, education and contract law, as well as divorce, child custody, visitation, general business, and estate matters.

Our practice region includes the counties of Irwin, Ben Hill, Turner, Crisp, Wilcox, Jeff Davis, Coffee, Tift, Dooly, Atkinson, Colquitt, Berrien, and Dodge.
